To be afraid, is to be surrounded with fear.
Fear is an uncontrollable or unpleasant emotion or feeling caused by an actual or perceived danger or threat. Fear is a spirit __2 Timothy 1:7 ; it can intimidate and deters you from achieving your objectives. The moment fear overtakes or controls you, you become prone to making mistakes or failing to arrive at your goal.
After the death of Moses, God installed Joshua as the new leader to lead the Israelites to cross the Jordan river. _But how ready was he?
I believe Joshua became timid upon the death of Moses, and also receiving the appointment to lead the people of Israel: because he knew the people whom he has come up with from the wilderness __how annoying and wearisome they are; because of them his master had gone to the grave without entering the promise land. Probably, that was why God repeatedly encouraged him to be strong and courageous because He noticed fear had overtaken Joshua.
I know there are numerous believers out there in this present times who are in same or similar situations believers who have become hopeless as a result of fear.
But the scripture says in _2 Timothy 1:7: "For God did not give us the spirit of timidity but of power and love and self-control"._ This particular scripture reveals the power vested in the believer_...a Spirit of power..._ (2 Timothy 1:7).
You should know this, God has clothed every believer with power but how to use that power is the problem to many believers. Many are the people who fails to arrive at their objectives not because they are incapable but because they misuse their powers and end up relying on other people, who in the end disappoint them.
Out of ignorance some believers use their powers against themselves in their distress. _The kind of utterances you make in the state of been surrounded by fear or danger can manifest and have effect on you in the future.
I think you should understand incubation period; the scientists will say a period between an exposure to a pathogenic organism and the appearance of signs and symptoms. So whatever utterances you make in turbulent times of life, it been positive or negative will surely manifest tomorrow. Yea! __after a period of incubation.
The scripture says: _"And the tongue is a fire. [The tongue is a] world of wickedness set among our members, contaminating and depraving the whole body and setting on fire the wheel of birth (the cycle of man's nature), being itself ignited by hell (Gehenna).__James 3:6(AMP)._ You have to be very careful about the manner you speak in difficult moments.

The story of a schoolmate at Junior high can be related here.
This guy's father was rich and could provide every need of the boy. One day as the boy left home to school, the father died; it happened right after he left home to school in the morning. Later some of our guys came and reported to him but he did not believe them. So we rushed to the house with the boy and finally saw the news to be true. At that moment what this boy said was "I am finished" . Why? __because he has lost the father. And believe this: some months after the Father's burial this boy began to experience the heat of life...the family members took the properties of the father and did not cater for the boy. School fees, pocket money and even uniforms became a problem. I believe that was as a result of the utterance he made when the father died, " I am finished ". The power of the tongue that the scripture talks about. He misused his powers and it worked against him.
1 John 4:18  says, "... The one who fears is not made perfect.._You cannot reach perfection when you become afraid and timid in your distress. Take decisive steps against the spirit of fear. Put yourself together and rise up again. You've got to practice faith.
Back to our scripture reference, Joshua 1:6,7,9... God told Joshua to be strong and courageous because that's how he could come out of fear and accomplish his assignment. And the same scripture is talking to you today, to be strong and courageous, and to face the challenge. Stand firm in Christ, adhere to  him in your problems. _Isaiah 41:10; scripture says, " Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand".
This is the promise of God. You can continue reading through to verse 13. Do not be dismayed for God is with you.
Believers are not to be afraid, for we have a God who is greater than any other 1 John 4:4.
As God instructed Joshua to meditate on His word, so are we also to do in all situations. Let's meditate on the word and also pray always, keeping faith alive.
Finally, be strengthened in the Lord, Shalom.

The unending battle before Christians

UNENDING BATTLING AGAINST THE DEVIL AS CHRISTIANS.  Battling the enemy is part of our Christian lives. We are constantly at war with the devil; always trying to pull us down__(Ephesians 6:12). But we are encouraged to stand firm in the Lord and to put on the full armor of God. Many are the afflictions that will befall us as followers of Christ and we are to win over them. Physical battles are fought with physical missiles while spiritual battles are fought spiritually. As a believer, anytime you fight your enemy physically he sees you as a loser because you are without a weapon. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 says, For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ(NKJV). The weapons we use as Christ...

Making God proud _kwabby joy's new release

MAKING GOD PROUD  Psalm 37:4;   KWABBY JOY , OWNER OF JOY MINISTRIES   Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart".[AMP]_ One of the numerous ways of receiving special attention from God is to make him proud. We are able to gain God's attention if we do the very things that will make Him feel pleased. Thus, we should standout from among the many people. To standout means to be exceptional or noteworthy. The psalmist said,   Psalm 106:3; "Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are those who observe justice [treating others fairly] and who do right and are in right standing with God at all times". This means if we are able to do what pleases God, He will assure us of His reward. To be proud of someone means you are glad or happy about their accomplishments. So its like what we will do will determine whether God will be pleased or not. In Job 1:8, God was pleased with Job for being faithful ...
